For further implementation of funding policies of the state and Jiangnan University, further information about actual life situation of 2022 impoverished students, and intensification of the joint efforts of home-school education, Liu Boxian, deputy secretary of the Party committee of School of Foreign Studies, Miao Wenjian, a counsellor, and class teachers of the freshmen, from August 27 to 29, carried out “cloud” family visits and condolence activities for these needy freshmen through video connection, sending their warmth and concerns, and bringing students confidence and strength.

At present, freshmen are still at home, prepared for registration. Through video connections, leaders and teachers of the college had “one-to-one” online family visits with the needy freshmen they had learnt, extending the greetings and care of the college, introducing the funding policies of the state and the university, focusing on students’ economic conditions in their families, difficulties in their studies and planning in the future, and encouraging them to fight hard and achieve dreams in Jiangnan University. Meanwhile, these parents expressed their heartfelt thanks for concerns and determination of working with the university for cultivating students.

“Cloud” family visits show love “online”. This activity, effectively publicizing and implementing the funding policies of the state and the university, made the needy students build confidence and firm ideals, and laid a foundation for the college to develop subsidized education in the later period.
