The Double Ninth Festival is a festival of respecting, loving and helping elders. In line with the theme of “Learn Party History and Handle Concrete Affairs”, all Party members of Branch of SFS (School of Foreign Studies) visited retired party members and colleagues and sent to them the solicitude and warmth, with the purpose of carrying forward such Chinese traditional virtues as respecting and loving the aged, and caring about the lives of senior party members and colleagues so that they can feel the warmth and care from the Party.

On the afternoon of October 14th and 15th, 10 members of three groups led by the secretary of the college, visited three retired senior party cadres and colleagues, sending flowers and gifts to them and extending sincere greetings and blessings. They inquired in detail about the health and daily life of old leaders and party members.

Working conscientiously and selflessly in their posts, retired teachers have devoted a great deal of effort to the cause of education and made outstanding contributions. During the visit, Li Zongyuan, a retired party member, told us about the changes of the school in the past decades, which made us express amazement at the rapid development and gratitude for the convenient living environment. Although nearly 90 years, the old secretary is still concerned about school education and care for students’ growth. He offered a lecture on adaptation in university to freshmen, which impressed us deeply with the spirit of life dedication to education of the party members of the older generation. It also further encourages us to remain true to our original aspiration and continue to stride forward.
