On the afternoon of October 9th, SFS (School of Foreign Study) organized a meeting for head-teachers of 2021 grade in conference room, SFS building, in order to form a positive academic atmosphere among new students, and clarify contents and duty of head teachers’ work. Participants of the meeting are deputy Party secretary of SFS Liu Boxian, 2021 grade counselors and 2021 grade head teachers. 2021 grade counselor and 2021 grade head teacher Gu Xinghai hosted this meeting.
At the beginning of the meeting, Secretary Liu Boxian introduced contents and requirements of head teachers’ work, which included many aspects such as work regulations, management, work assessment and work reward. He pointed that head teachers should start with knowing students, and then managing the teaching process, as well as launching ideological education and safety education. Putting everything into practice, keeping records frequently and introspecting continually are also important to head teachers. Later, in combination with his own experience as a head-teacher, secretary Liu handled queries for new head teachers from the aspects of study, life and interpersonal communication, and explained the importance of head teachers during students’ growth and class construction.
Counselor of 2021 Gu Xinghai introduced the work schedule and requirements of helping new students. Besides, Gu Xinghai mentioned the theme of October 2021 grade new students class meeting, which is safety, epidemic prevention and adaptation. Work requirement and procedure of needy students' aid were deeply introduced. Finally, Secretary Liu Boxian signed SFS Head Teachers Responsibility Contract (revised in 2021) with 2021 grade head-teachers.
After the training meeting, 2021 grade head-teachers held class-meeting in their own class. The contents of class-meeting were about Internet safety, mental health, epidemic prevention and new student adaption. Teachers declared recent important events, such as qualification of needy students, application of needy students and proceedings of military training. Student manual was clarified and class committee was formed. First class-meeting was good for fulfilling class business efficiently. And it created good condition for the construction of class.
The operation of 2021 grade head-teachers meeting and new student adaptation meeting indicates a high attention of SFS towards student work. And it fully ensures the successful adaptation of new students in aspects of mentality, studies and school life. All of these will help new students grow and develop.
