On the afternoon of September 26, the 8th lecture of 2021 Foreign Language Subject Series, "Analysis of Chinese Academic Foreign Translation Project and Interpretation of 2021 Application Policies", was held in Conference Room A349 of our school. In this meeting, we invited Li Yanling, the president of the International Publishing Branch of Social Science Literature Publishing House, to give a special lecture to our teachers. The lecture was hosted by Fang Wenkai, Dean of the School of Foreign Studies, while more than 50 teachers and students from the School of Foreign Studies participated in this lecture.

President Li gave an introduction to the teachers from the following four major aspects. First of all, she briefly introduced the international publishing, international co-publishing, overseas partners and multilingual publishing of the International Publishing Branch of Social Science Literature Publishing House. Secondly, she introduced the "Chinese Academic Foreign Translation Project" and other similar national "going global" funding projects, as well as the selection of the Social Science Literature Publishing House over the years.

Then, President Li reviewed the application requirements of the Chinese Academic Foreign Translation Project, the application process, the evolution of application policy, the comparison of the total number of projects established by the Chinese Academic Foreign Translation Project and the number of projects established by the Social Science Literature Publishing House in previous years, as well as the distribution of disciplines and text editions of the selected projects in 2020. After that, she explained the basic requirements and process for the application in 2021, especially the major changes in the application policy of the project in 2021.

At the end of the lecture, President Li had a lively discussion with the participants. They showed great interest in the content of lecture and the application of the "Chinese Academic Foreign Translation Project", and asked questions about copyright, funding and other related issues that might arise in the application process. President Li also patiently gave answers to the questions raised by teachers and provided pertinent suggestions. Through this exchange, our teachers gained a deeper understanding of the National Social Science "Chinese Academic Foreign Translation Project". Everyone was so enthusiastic and expressed their intention to apply for the project as well as carefully selecting the topic and conducting solid research, so as to promote the further development of the scientific research work of our school.
