Course Description:
This is an intensive practical unit within the platform course system, compulsory for undergraduate English majors, and aims to offer an opportunity for English majors to experience the discrepancies in language, culture, history, thinking, cognition and customs between English and Chinese-speaking people in person by attending diplomatic or foreign activities, international exchange programs or bilateral activities in education, culture, amusement, sports, etc. Through this it is hoped to expand students’ horizons, enrich their international experiences, enhance their cross-cultural awareness, and promote their communicative ability and social adaptability, all with a view to fostering high-quality bilingual talent, which can help China attend to international affairs and participate in worldwide competition with a broad, global horizon and a sound command of international rules and practices.
