At the meeting, Teng Fei first briefed the overall status of the school’s current student mental health work. Based on detailed data, she analyzed the psychological characteristics and potential risks of students at each grade level in the spring semester. She stressed that, as the first line of defense for students’ psychological safety, class advisers must closely monitor students’ ideological dynamics, strengthen regular communication and coordination with counselors, and form a collaborative educational force.

The meeting specially invited Dong Xia to deliver a lecture entitled Emotional First Aid and On-Site Response to College Student Emergencies. Drawing on her extensive frontline experience in student work, Dong Xia used typical cases to explain in a straightforward manner the skills for identifying psychological crises and emergencies among college students, on-site emotional comfort and communication strategies, and standardized follow-up disposal procedures, offering practical guidance for class advisers to handle various emergencies.

In the session on further education and employment services, Teng Fei reported on the progress of further education and employment for the school’s Class of 2026 graduates. She compared employment data from recent years, analyzed the current job market landscape, and identified common challenges students face in postgraduate re-examinations and job hunting. She urged graduating-class advisers to provide categorized guidance and targeted support, focus on students with academic and employment difficulties, and offer one-on-one assistance.

With a clear theme, practical content and strong pertinence, this class adviser meeting clarified the key tasks and priorities of student work for the new semester and effectively improved the professional competence of the class adviser team in addressing complex student-related issues. Moving forward, the School of Foreign Studies will continue to deepen the “ThreeComplete Education mechanism, take capacity building of the class adviser team as a key focus, steadily strengthen the foundation of student management, and promote the high-quality development of the school’s student affairs.
