On the afternoon of September 14, the 2023 Jiangnan University "Strong Country Has Me, Endeavor Has Progress" Military Training Singing Competition was successfully held in the Lihu Campus Gymnasium. Ma Qinwen, a cadre led by the training troops, Liang Jian, deputy director of the Propaganda Department of the Party Committee of the school, Li Enzhong, professor of the Music Department of the College of Humanities, Qian Lin, associate professor, and Wu Yao, deputy secretary of the school Youth League Committee, attended the event and served as judges. Instructors, counselors and all 2023 freshmen from all colleges participated in this competition.

A total of teams from 17 faculties and performance teams composed of music teacher training students from the School of Humanities participated in this competition. Each team sang the school song of Jiangnan University and the military training theme song of their own repertoire to participate. In the preparatory process, all colleges actively prepared for the competition, so that the school song and military song also lingered on the campus on the military training ground. The School of Humanities selected 19 new students of the 2023 class of music teacher training as small tutors to carefully guide the singing of each college, and the training counselors of each college also designed and created the participating programs with the students, ensuring the wonderful presentation of this competition.

During the competition, the school song of Jiangnan University sung by 18 representative teams sounded again and again on the spot, so that the melody of the school song echoed on campus, the lyrics of the school song were sung in the heart, and the school song was also the best love for new students. The military song is sung, the youth is flying, and the performance of the self-selected songs of each academy is even more exciting. They sang classic red songs such as "Yingshan Red", "Defending the Yellow River" and "Wanquan River Water", expressing their reverence for the glory years and their admiration for the revolutionary spirit; They sang patriotic songs such as "Without the Communist Party, There Would Be No New China", "The Motherland Will Not Forget", "Serving the Country with Loyalty", and "The Red Flag Fluttering", and shouted "Clear love is only for China" and "This prosperous era is as you wish" during the singing, expressing their deep love for the motherland; They sang inspiring military songs such as "The Soul of China's Army" and "A Strong Army Has Me", singing the national defense spirit of striving for strength; They sang songs of the times such as "Towards Rejuvenation", "Wish", "Proud Youth" and so on, expressing the self-confidence and self-improvement, courage and responsibility of young people in the new era. The Music Department of the School of Humanities sang "Don't Forget the Original Heart", which excited the audience and made the whole event reach a climax. The academies also interspersed the chorus with a variety of performance methods such as soundtrack, recitation, sitcom performance, dance accompaniment, etc., one by one, clean movements, and a sound that resounded in the sky, making the competition climax, showing the spirited youth of the new Jiangnan people, bringing an audio-visual feast and spiritual inspiration to everyone. The slogan "Strong country has me, forge ahead" has been echoing in the arena for a long time. The military song is loud and magnificent, and the song that pierces time and space engraves the trickle of patriotism, the aspiration to strengthen the country with fists, and conveys the feelings of serving the country with sincerity.

After fierce competition, the non-music teacher professional team of the School of Humanities won the first prize, the School of Business and the School of Internet of Things Engineering won the second prize, and the School of Design, School of Medicine, and School of Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science won the third prize. The School of Chemical and Materials Engineering, the School of Textile Science and Engineering, the School of Mechanical Engineering, the School of Bioengineering, and the School of Marxism received the Excellent Organization Award. The Faculty of Humanities Music Teacher Professional Team won the Performance Award.

Every year during military training, the school will carefully hold a singing competition to show the spirit of Jiangnan students. This year's military training singing competition is also one of the theme activities launched by our school during the National Defense Education Month of "Vigorously Striving to Strengthen National Defense and Forging Courage and Perseverance to Rejuvenate". This competition not only enriched the campus cultural life during the military training, but also stimulated the patriotism and love of the school of Jiangnan students. One school song, military song after another, patriotic anthem have injected strong spiritual power into all the new students, and the new Jiangnan people are full of spirit and fighting spirit, and they vow to forge ahead with Jiangnan and move forward together.
