In the afternoon of November 16, the 11th Sharing Space Roundtable invited Professor Gu Qiyi, Vice President of the School of Foreign Languages, to give a lecture on the topic of professional growth of foreign language students, which lasted for nearly one and a half hours. This roundtable was held in the form of a mini-salon and was hosted by Wang Xuhao from the Student Union of the School of Foreign Languages.

There were two parts in this roundtable. In the first part, Professor Gu Qiyi told the students about the significance of the event and the differences between two generations of foreign language students in the context of big data and new media. Her humorous speech not only brought laughter to the students, but also lead them to find answers to the problems they encountered in their life and study at their undergraduate phase. In the second part, in response to the confusion raised by some students, Gu Qi answered them one by one, such as the anxiety of not being able to find a suitable field for themselves and the concern of artificial intelligence gradually replacing translation. In response, Prof. Gu also used stories to relief the confusion and give advice to the students.

The Sharing Space sharing and exchange roundtable is one of the brand activities carried out by the Student Union of the College of Foreign Languages in the context of new liberal arts and new foreign languages, aiming to make full use of the resources of the university and the college to build a platform for the students of the College of Foreign Languages to exchange and share information on academics and skills. The round table gave students a deeper understanding and appreciation of their majors and more courage to meet the challenges they will encounter in their next life phase of professional growth.
