On November 12, the 2022 Jiangsu Provincial Postgraduate Academic Innovation Forum on Foreign Languages and Literature entitled "Dialogue with the World" was held in Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology. The forum was hosted by Jiangsu Provincial Literature Postgraduate Education Steering Committee and undertaken by the Graduate Work Department, the Graduate School and the School of Arts of Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology. The forum is conducted online and offline.

At the opening ceremony, Zhu Damei, Vice President of Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology , Professor Yang Jincai, Chairman of the Jiangsu Provincial Steering Committee for Postgraduate Literature Education, and Professor Yuan Min, Head of the Graduate Work Department of Nanjing University of Information Engineering, delivered speeches successively, introduced the basic information to the experts and guests at the meeting, and extended a warm welcome to all the experts and guests.
In the expert lecture segment, Professor Luo Lin of Beijing Language and Culture Universiterfirst gave the theme lecture of National Language Resource Construction in the View of Regional and Country Studies. Professor Luo Lin emphasized the academic and practical significance of strategic foreign language classification. Subsequently, Professor Chen Shihua of Nanjing University of Technology gave a keynote lecture entitled "Research on Country Issues: Viewpoints and Solutions". In the lecture, Professor Chen Shihua combed the history, background and significance of the study on country specific issues. Then Professor Péter HAJDU from the Humanities Research Center of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences gave a lecture on the theme "The Presence of Graeco Roman Classics in Contemporary Hungarian Literature". In the lecture, Professor Péter HAJDU discussed poetry creation and contemporary poetry at the same time. Professor Zhu Xinfu of Suzhou University gave a lecture on the theme of A Brief Introduction to Contemporary (Anthropocene) Climate Change Novels. Professor Zhu Xinfu's lecture will cover the definition, theme, characteristics and relevant research significance of contemporary (Anthropocene) climate change novels. The significance of studying and analyzing (Anthropocene) climate change novels lies not only in its interpretation of the cultural knowledge of climate change, but also in its emphasis on a series of challenging issues brought about by climate change. Professor Liu Yunhong of Nanjing University gave a lecture on the theme of From Translation Practice Criticism to Translation Theory Construction. Professor Liu Yunhong pointed out that translation criticism has the function of communicating translation theory and translation practice and promoting their interaction, which is of great significance to the construction of translation theory. Professor Ni Chuanbin of Nanjing Normal University gave a lecture on the theme of "The Influence of Foreign Languages on Perception". Professor Ni Chuanbin, based on the analysis of the perceptual effects of 693 subjects, explored the influence of foreign languages on five senses.
At 14:00 p.m., the sub forum discussion began. This forum has seven sub forums, including frontier issues and methods in linguistics, frontier issues and methods in foreign literature, frontier issues and methods in translation studies (including MTI), frontier issues and methods in national and regional studies, among which 11 postgraduate students from Jiangnan University participated in the forum. The participants gave a concise report on their papers to the review experts and the participants, and the review experts put forward effective suggestions for improvement from both advantages and disadvantages. The students listened modestly to the revision suggestions of the judges and teachers, and actively interacted with the teachers in the interactive link, and carried out in-depth academic discussion.
At the closing ceremony, Professor Zhao Xia, Dean of the School of Arts of Nanjing University of Information Engineering, and Professor Lu Zhenyu, Dean of the Graduate School gave speeches and encouraged the winners. The 11 postgraduate students participated by our college won the second prize, the third prize and the excellent prize respectively. Among them, Ma Fangfang and Ma Liangfu won the second prize, Li Yue, Zhu Yan and Xu Mengying won the third prize, and Yuan Yongxue, Fan Yulin, Cheng Hao, Hua Jinze, Yu Pengbo and Feng Xiaochen won the Excellence Award.
This forum is rich in content and easy to understand. It has benefited teachers and students who listened to online, broadened their horizons, and also provided them with new ideas and methods. The forum has also promoted the progress and development of graduate education in the School of Foreign Languages.
