On the afternoon of November 9th, Prof. Chen Duoyou, member of the Japanese Sub-Committee of the Steering Committee of Foreign Language and Literature of the Ministry of Education, also the Director of the Oriental Research Institute of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, was invited to give an online lecture entitled "Basic Methods of Writing Academic Papers" to our students and teachers. The lecture was hosted by Prof. Zhang Peng, Head of Japanese Department.
With his rich and extensive experience in academic writing and publishing, Prof. Chen expanded on seven aspects, including thesis selection, literature review, abstract refinement, argumentative logic, thesis revision, conclusion writing, and method innovation, and made suggestions of highly targeting and reference value for each part.
The lecture lasted for nearly 2 hours, which was rich and insightful, benefiting the teachers and students who participated in the meeting online. In the interactive session, Prof. Chen answered and responded to all the questions raised by the teachers and students in detail. The atmosphere for discussion was very good and the academic exchange was also effective.
This lecture broadened the academic horizon of our faculty and students, and promoted the academic cooperation and exchange between our university and renowned institutions at home and abroad.
