On the afternoon of October 26, the Transformation Education for New Students and the 19th session of Meet a Better Yourself were held in the lecture hall of the School of Foreign Studies and 1A410 of the Academic Building. With the theme of "Multinational Life", this activity invited alumni Lin Shiling to share her experience online. The freshmen of Year 22 and some students of Year 21 and 20 attended the sharing meeting, which was hosted by instructor Miao Wenjian.

Before the sharing session, instructor Miao Wenjian introduced the sharing person Lin Shiling to the students, who is the 2017 graduates of the School of Foreign Studies, the torchbearer of the Beijing Winter Olympics, one of the youth selected for the IOC Youth Leadership Program, and a member of the IOC Digital Interaction and Marketing Communication Commission. Then, Lin Shiling shared her ideas from three aspects of work, study and education.

First of all, Lin Shiling introduced her current work, which is Traditional Sports Integrated with Modern Sports, Youth Interaction in Traditional Sports Industry, and Digital Presentation of Traditional Sports. The animated short filmWater and Boatinitiated and produced by her was displayed and won acclaim at the IOC Youth Summit held in Lausanne, Switzerland. Through this, she encouraged students to break the rules and use different ways of thinking to improve their creative capacity.

Then Lin Shiling recalled her life in Jiangnan University. She mentioned her professional learning experience and the fun of participating in student activities at the School of Foreign Studies, and elaborated on the enlightenment she received from the university in terms of cultivating her learning ability and exploring her career development in multiple dimensions, taking into account her own growth experience.

At the end of the sharing session, students asked questions about their own interests. Lin Shiling encouraged them to improve themselves and learn professional courses well during the downturn. At the same time, she hoped that the freshmen would also embrace their personal interests and strengthen themselves.

Lin Shiling's heartfelt message ignited the students' motivation and guided them to actively explore their personal interests, enrich their university life, be determined in their goals, explore relentlessly and create their own multi-dimensional life. The power of role models is infinite, and the students will definitely work hard toward their goals and explore the many possibilities of themselves. As the old saying goes,the way stretched endless ahead, I will seek from head to foot.On the way to pursue dreams, the students of the external college will become better themselves.
