Cyberspace is our spiritual home, and the Internet civilization has also become an important factor for building public etiquette and civility. On the afternoon of October 5th, the activity of purifying the online environment was held in Room A349 of the School of Foreign Studies. Deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Foreign Studies Liu Boxian, the counselor Miao Wenjian, and the promotion committee leader of each class participated in this activity.
Before the meeting, members shared some cases about how public opinion was influenced and social problems were caused by false statements on the Internet. Those real cases could give warning to students to improve their personal consciousness about network security. At the meeting,the promotion committee leader of each class introduced the class’s publicity practices and the operation of the class’s media platform. Then the counselor Miao Wenjian introduced the plan and requirements of this activity and answered the students’ questions. At last, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Foreign Studies Liu Boxian, made a summary of the meeting. Liu first elaborated the regulations of the university on the epidemic control and prevention and emphasized the importance of strictly obeying those rules. Liu also mentioned that every student should express their appeal through a reasonable way. Moreover, students should care about their classmates, having the collective sense of honor, taking responsibility to love and support our university. And members of the class committee should guide all the students to pursue truth, kindness and beauty.
In this activity, through online and offline ways, every student would be encouraged to participate in the construction of the “clean cyberspace”, like signing the proposal of building cleaner online environment, and joining in other sub-activities, etc. All the people bear the responsibility. And the young people should actively take action to be a good netizen who can foster healthier atmosphere, purify the Internet environment, and promote social harmony and stability. All of us should work together to create a clean and healthy cyberspace.
