It was an early autumn. At 3:30 p.m. on September 21st, the opening ceremony of the 2022 class ofSchool of Foreign Languages was held in the Qixian Hall. All members of the leadership team of School of Foreign Languages, representatives of professors, heads of professional departments, directors of the two offices, student counselors, class teachers, undergraduate and graduate students in the class of 2022 attended the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony was presided over by Liu Boxian, deputy secretary of the party committee and vice president.

Before the opening ceremony, the new students of 2022 had a better understanding of the school by watching the video "Meet the Foreign School". After that, Professor Zhang Peng, the teacher's representative, gave a speech. Zhang Peng quoted Wang Guowei's three realms of life to encourage the freshmen of 2022 to make progress. He said: everyone should read more books in college, read good books, stimulate their drive, expand their knowledge reserve, and make continuous progress towards their ultimate goals through planning.

In the speech session of freshmen representative, Sheng Yuhan stood on the new starting line and spoke enthusiastically on behalf of freshmen, expressing her longing for future study and life and sharing her college plan. Liang Yuesi, the representative of the graduate students of 2022, shared the joy of coming to Jiangnan university and expressed the unremitting pursuit of academic research on behalf of the graduate students. Then, the school leaders read out the name list of year 2022 freshmen head teachers, and Liu Boxian, deputy secretary of the College Party Committee, awarded the appointment letter to 2022 freshmen head teachers. At the opening ceremony, Party members and staff of the college started to contact the dormitories of 2022 freshmen. Shi Zhihong, secretary of the Party Committee of the school, issued the appointment letter of "dormitory tutor" to Party members.

Finally, the Dean of the School of Foreign Languages Fang Wenkai gave a speech. He expressed his hope to the students: to tell the story of China in the new era in a foreign language.
