On September 16, the first conference of the Master of Foreign Languages Class of 2022 was held in College A349. Affected by the epidemic, this meeting took a combination of online and offline mode, with returning freshmen attending the meeting offline and the rest of the students participating online. The meeting was attended by Xie Jingxian, vice dean of the School of Foreign Languages, Lv Hongbo, director of the 2022 master class, Lu Fang, graduate counselor, Feng Xiaochen, executive chairman of the research association, and all new students of the 2022 master class.

The first session of the conference was conducted by counselor Lu Fang. Firstly, Ms. Lu introduced the teachers in charge of postgraduate work in the college to the students, and started the topic of "how to spend the postgraduate time" and gave advice, such as clear graduation goals and good stage planning. Secondly, Mr. Lu introduced the student organizations and the school's policies on rewards and punishments and financial support, and encouraged students to actively participate in academic competitions, enrich their extracurricular life and improve their academic ability. Finally, Mr. Lu emphasized again the leave system and other precautions, and reminded students to be alert to various fraudulent means.

The second part of the conference was the speech of Vice President Xie Jingxian, who is in charge of postgraduate students. Firstly, Dean Xie guided everyone to get acquainted with each other through the roll call. After that, he emphasized again the academic problems of the graduate students, and finally expressed his care for the students and said that the school is always the solid support for them.

The third part of the conference was hosted by Mr. Lu Hongbo, the class teacher, for the class committee election. The class committee election included five positions: class president, group secretary, propaganda committee, organization committee and psychology committee, and more than ten students applied to participate. They introduced their understanding of the positions, their reasons for participating in the election and their vision of being a class committee member, reflecting their high enthusiasm for work and sincerity of dedication to the collective. After the speeches, all students elected the class members through anonymous voting online.

The final part of the conference was conducted by Feng Xiaochen, the executive chairman of the Foreign Studies Association, who organized the propaganda of the recruitment . Ms. Feng talked about the daily work of the Research Council , introduced the brand activity "Research Way Forward", and counted the rewards of joining the Research Council, expressing her joy and welcome to the new energy.

This conference combined with the postgraduate training program to show the future path of new students, effectively help new students to adapt to postgraduate life as soon as possible, scientific planning of the road of research, and hope that we can spend a fulfilling three years.
