On September 16th, the first conference of 2022 Masters of School of Foreign Languages was held in A349 of School. Due to the impact of the epidemic, the conference adopted a combination of online and offline modes, with returning freshmen attending the conference offline and other students participating online. Present at the meeting were Xie Jingxian, vice -president of the School of Foreign Languages, Lu Hongbo, class teacher of the 2022 Master, Lu Fang, postgraduate counselor, Feng Xiaochen, the executive chairman of the postgraduate association, and all the 2022 Master degree candidate freshmen.

In the first part of the conference, Lu Fang, the counselor, conducted freshmen's enrollment education. Firstly, Ms. Lu introduced the relevant teachers in charge of graduate work in the college to the students, and started a topic on "how to spend postgraduate time", giving suggestions, such as clarifying graduation goals and making stage planning. Secondly, Ms. Lu introduced the student organization, the school's reward, punishment and financial aid policies, and encouraged students to actively participate in discipline competitions to enrich extracurricular life and improve academic ability. Finally, Ms. Lu again emphasized the leave system and other matters needing attention, and reminded students to be alert to all kinds of fraud methods.

The second part of the conference was a speech by vice-president Xie Jingxian who was in charge of postgraduates. Prisident Xie first introduced the students to get to know each other through the roll call, then emphasized the academic problems in the postgraduate stage again, and finally expressed his concern for the students, saying that the school is always a solid backing for everyone.

The third part of the conference by the class teacher Lv Hongbo presided over the class committee election. The class committee election includes monitor, league secretary, publicity committee, organization committee and psychological committee of the 5 positions, more than ten students signed up to participate. We introduced their understanding of the post, the reason to participate in the election and the assumption of the class committee, embodies the high enthusiasm for work and dedication to the collective sincerity. After the speech, all the students voted for the class committee through anonymous voting online.

In the last part of the conference, Feng Xiaochen, the executive chairman of the Graduate Association of the Foreign School, conducted the recruitment promotion. Feng explained the daily work of the forum, introduced the brand activity " Endeavour on the way to postgraduate ", detailed the harvest of joining the postgraduate association, and expressed the joy and welcome for the new force to join.

In combination with the training plan of the postgraduate stage, the conference pointed out the future path for the freshmen, helped the freshmen to adapt to the postgraduate life as soon as possible, and scientifically planned the path of research. I hope everyone can spend a full three years.
