Recently, the National Natural Science Foundation of China announced the review results of the applied project in 2022. 294396 project applications have been received in 2022, and a total of 292829 items were accepted after preliminary review and reexamination.

Jiangnan University won 171 NSFC projects, an increase of 14.8% year on year. Both the number of funded projects and the approved funds reached a record high. Among them, there are 74 general programs, 90 youth science fund programs, 2 national science fund for distinguished young scholars, 2 outstanding youth science fund programs, 2 key programs and 1 special program.

Under the severe situation that the total number of applications across the country continues to increase and the competition for project approval becomes fiercer, the total number of approved projects and project funding of Jiangnan University has grown against the trend, and it has been approved by the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars for four consecutive years.
