On the occasion of the successful closing of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee, on November 17, the School of Foreign Studies held a faculty meeting to publicize and implement the spirit of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee and collectively study the communique of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee. The meeting was presided over by Shi Zhihong, Secretary of the CPC Committee of the school, and supervised by Wei Fuqin, leader of the fourth steering group for party history learning and education of the college and director of the case supervision and Management Office of the Discipline Inspection Commission of the college.

At the meeting, all the staff watched the whole spirit learning video of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee. Shi Zhihong pointed out that studying and implementing the spirit of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee is not only an important political task of the school, but also an important content of party history learning and education. The whole school should understand the spiritual essence, quickly set off a learning upsurge, take the spirit of the plenary session as the guidance, summon up all the energy and successfully complete all the work objectives of the school.

Ni Songtao, member of the Standing Committee of the UCPC and director of the Publicity Department of the UCPC, was invited to give a special lecture on the study and education of party history. With the title of The Spirit of the Long March, Minister Ni clarified the basic concepts of the Long March, analyzed the root causes of the victory, and excavated the basic connotation of the spirit of the long march. He pointed out that the long march spirit is a national spirit with original significance. We should carry forward the great long march spirit and continue to forge ahead bravely on the new Long March. The lecture was well received by the teachers with vivid historical facts and incisive analysis.

Dean Fang Wenkai gave a moral warning education of “knowing ten principles and abiding by the bottom line of teachers’ Morality”. He introduced the relevant violation of ethics to strengthen accountability mechanism, explained the relevant cases. With the relevant cases, he hoped that the teachers would take warning, build a strong ideological defense line, strictly observe the bottom line of teachers’ ethics, abide by the ten principles of teachers’ professional behavior, strive to become a great gentleman shaping students’ character, conduct and taste, and be a good teacher with “Four Haves” satisfactory to the party and the people.

The School of Foreign Studies attaches great importance to the political theory study of the faculty, and always follows the relevant work requirements of the University Party committee. Teachers’ ethics and party history education should be incorporated into regular learning contents, and teachers’ standing should be continuously improved through learning, so as to enhance the ideological and political quality of teachers.
