The evaluation of the outstanding league branch of the Class of 2020 and the handover ceremony of the league branch with the special title of Lei Feng were successfully held in the afternoon of November 10 in A349 of the college. Who attended the meeting were Liu Boxian, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the College; Bao Guoqing, Executive Deputy Director of the College’s Committee on Care and Work; Lu Fang, Secretary of the Sub-Committee; counselors Gu Haixing and Miao Wenjian, and representatives of the students of Grade 20 and 21.

At the beginning of the meeting, the participants watched a documentary on Lei Feng and learned the spirit of Lei Feng from the documentary. After that, the six branches of the 20th grade students took the stage in turn to present their defense. Each branch presented its “branch construction”, “activities”, “branch honor” and “work vision”. After the growth and accumulation in the first year, each branch had shown its own style.

After that, Teacher Bao made comments on the six defending group branches. Teacher Bao pointed out that the group branches should play the role of gathering and serving the youth, and should strengthen theoretical knowledge learning as well as improve their ability in practice. According to the on-site scoring, English Class 2001 won the first prize, English Class 2003 and English Class 2004 won the second prize, and English Class 2002, Japanese Class 2001 and Japanese Class 2002 won the third prize. And then, Teacher Lu and Teacher Bao presented the awards to the winning group branches respectively.

Through the graphic display of the rich activities and excellent achievements of the group members in the past three years, Shi Xueru, the secretary of English 1803 group which was Lei Feng Specially Claimed Group Branch, showed the youthful style of English 1803 group under the guidance of Lei Feng spirit, “striving for upward, striving for first”. Zheng Ruolin, the secretary of English 2001 group which was the new “Lei Feng Specially Named Group Branch”, received the banner of the Lei Feng Specially Named Group Branch from Shi Xueru, saying that she would earnestly study and practice the spirit of Lei Feng, and carry forward the fine tradition of the Specially Named Group Branch.

At the end of the meeting, Liu Bo Xian, deputy secretary of the party committee of the college, made a speech. Secretary Liu firstly expressed his gratitude to the teachers of Caring for the Next Generation Working Committee for their concern and support to the work of students in the college, and at the same time, he affirmed the excellent work performance of English 1803 group branch, and congratulated English 2001 group branch for winning the title of Lei Feng Specially Named Group Branch, and also put forward three hopes for the new Specially Named Group Branch: firstly, to understand the spirit of Lei Feng and firmly believe in the ideal; secondly, to carry forward the spirit of nail and dare to suffer and innovate; thirdly, to integrate the small self into the big self and establish the feeling of family and country.

The smooth handover of the special branch enables the spirit of Lei Feng to be inherited and carried forward. It hands over not only a banner, but also responsibility and mission. It is believed that under the leadership of the Party Committee of the College, with the support of the Committee, and with the joint efforts of all the members of the Lei Feng Specially Named Group Branch, the spirit of Lei Feng will be passed on, and the young and old will join hands to create a new world!
