A hundred years of prosperity, our heart of youth to the Party. At 4:00 pm on November 10, 2021, the fifth Student Congress and the first Postgraduate Congress of the School of Foreign Studies were successfully held in the Foreign Studies building. The meeting was presided over by Liu Boxian, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the college, Lu Fang, secretary of the Youth League Committee, Gu Haixing and Miao Wenjian, counselors, and 53 student representatives.

At the beginning of the conference, all people stood up and the national anthem was played. Following that, Liu Boxian, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the college, delivered a speech. His words were brimming with great hopes for the students. He mentioned that the new generation of young people is growing up under the sunshine and enjoying in the spring breeze. Young students should acquire knowledge carefully, improve their overall quality, practice the socialist core values, and become "Foreign Language Learners" in the new era who know China, love China, and are capable of fulfilling our country's rejuvenation.

After that, Chen Zhijia, a former representative of the presidium of the Student Union, and Zhao Tong, a representative of the presidium of the Postgraduate Union, each reported on their work. They went over what they did in the previous session, presented what they accomplished in the task and discussed the flaws at the same time. They expressed that, as backbone students of our college, we should establish a correct perspective on the world, life and values, be strict with ourselves, and devote ourselves to students' work with a positive mindset. And we should never forget why we start and muster the will to move forward.

Afterwards, the participants reviewed the Constitution of the Student Union of the School of Foreign Studies and the Constitution of the Postgraduate Union of the School of Foreign Studies. It is expected that in the future, we will be united and innovative, thus showing the responsibility and youthfulness of the people of the School of Foreign Studies.

The 5th Student Committee and the 1st Postgraduate Committee were elected by democratic vote, including 11 members and 3 standing members of the 5th Student Committee and 5 members and 2 standing members of the 1st Postgraduate Committee. The conference was effectively finished with the Communist International Song after the agenda was satisfactorily completed. It comprehensively summarized the work of the previous session, objectively assessed the current new circumstances and obstacles, and explicitly defined future goals and duties. Under the leadership of the Party Committee and the guidance of the Youth League Committee, all members of the new Student Union and Postgraduate Union will serve students wholeheartedly, enhance their mission in the future life, and say out loud "Please count on me, on the way to a stronger country."
