It’s golden autumn of October and rich fruits are in heaps; our school of foreign studies welcomes new students of class 2021. At 8 o 'clock in the morning of October 8th, the freshman registration works officially kicked off in the hall of the college. There were 189 undergraduates and 25 postgraduates in the class of 2021 coming from all over the country. They came early to the college to register, with beautiful dreams and visions for the future. They will start a brand-new life here.

The leadership of the college attached great importance to the welcoming work and had held several coordinating meetings in advance to implement all the work. Before the welcoming work, the head teachers' meeting was held to share with them on how to open the first class and help students to do a good job in transition. Shi Zhihong, secretary of the college Party Committee, Fang Wenkai, dean of the college, Liu Boxian, deputy secretary of the college Party Committee, and Lu Fang, secretary of the Youth League Sub-committee of the college, all came to the reception site to greet and care for the freshmen and answered questions for them.

The theme of the welcoming work is the school of foreign studies has been waiting for you. In order to ensure the orderliness and efficiency of the registration, the counsellor Gu Haixing led the students’ union to make full preparations during the National holidays. The hall of the college was decorated with a signature wall for freshmen and they will all be given a warm greeting card. As students arrived here, they are arranged to sign their names and take photos. Four quick registration channels and a special green channel were opened in the hall of the college. And there were volunteers to be responsible for all aspects of the registration. In addition, the college also prepared special welcome packages for new students, so that they can feel the warmth and care from teachers and our school.

Staff working on the site were enthusiastic, patient and meticulous. They guided freshmen to sign in, submit materials and receive gifts. During the welcome period, all departments of the college made concerted efforts to plan the welcome work thoughtfully. On the night of freshman’s arrival, the counsellors and head teachers arrived the dormitory to inquire about freshman’s check-in and reminded them matters to pay attention in study and life, leaving the most beautiful memories of our school for all freshmen of class 2021.

Vigorous young students entered the campus, opening a new chapter of their lives, and injecting new vitality and energy into the construction and development of the college. Later, different departments will carry out extensive and in-depth freshman orientation education to help new students become involved in the new college life.
