Course Title: International Communication Etiquette

Course Prerequisites:  The Society and Culture of Major English-Speaking Countries

Course Description: 

This course is an elective subject for English majors, offered in the second semester. Generally, it focuses on introducing basic etiquette in cross-cultural communication as well as customs and taboos in other (predominantly English-speaking) countries to students. Through various kinds of teaching methods such as lectures, case studies and simulated practice, this course aims to improve students’ awareness of cultural differences as well as creating greater insight into basic etiquette and to know how to behave well in international communication. This will enhance their competence in cross-cultural situations, as well as to improve their personal qualities and facilitate their future career development.
