Course Description:

Interpreting Skills and Practice is a core course for second year English major students. As an indispensable part of the English language proficiency education program, this course aims at developing the English-Chinese consecutive interpreting skills of students. The course starts with the introduction of basic theories and principles of interpreting and focuses on the fundamental skills of consecutive interpreting ranging from memory training, analytical listening to note-taking and public speaking skills. By integrating language proficiency training and knowledge of various topics with the teaching of interpreting skills, students will be trained to be able to interpret basic contents with accuracy and fluency.
