Course Description:
Scientific and Technical Translation is an advanced course for senior English major students who are focusing in the translation and interpretation module. It is designed to develop students’ skills to translate scientific and technical literature. The topics are organized with the following characteristics of scientific and technical language as the main thread: Accuracy, objectiveness, complexity, standardization and logicality. These aspects deal with the basic rules, norms, procedures and strategies of scientific and technical translation as well as their applications in the specialized domain.
