Course Description:

Selected Reading of English translation of Chinese classics is an optional course for non-English majors. The objective of this course is to familiarize students with the basic principles and methodology for translation analysis; to enable them to understand the differences between Chinese and English at the systemic, lexical, grammatical, pragmatic and cultural levels to enhance their cultural awareness of the translation of Chinese classics; and to improve their translating skills and quality.
