Course Description:

Simultaneous interpreting is an optional course offered to English majors for the further improvement of their interpretation expertise. With the increasing exchanges in international economy, science and technology, culture and education, there is a huge demand for qualified simultaneous interpreters. This course is aimed to introduce SI (simultaneous interpretation) rudiments and skills to students who have had previous training in interpreting. Through this course, students are expected to have a systematic knowledge of the basic concepts, theories and principles of SI, cultivate multitasking ability, and receive relevant skill training in SI. As a result, students will be well prepared for a future interpreting career.
