Course Description:

This is an intensive practical subject within the specialized course system, compulsory for undergraduate English majors and requires students to understand and practice British Parliamentary (BP) debating. Through the introduction of the BP debate format, the explanation of debater roles and basic debate skills, organized observation of debate tournaments, motions analysis, group discussion and debate practice, students are expected to develop their accuracy and efficiency in English language expression, to cultivate their global vision, to deepen their thoughts, and to improve their critical thinking by analyzing and solving problems dialectically. Meanwhile, excellent contestants will be selected for debate competitions at home and abroad.
