Course Description:
Consecutive interpreting is an optional course offered to English majors for the improvement in their interpretation expertise. It is designed to help students further their command of the core concepts in interpretation and expand their spectrum of interpreting skills so as to improve their competence of doing C-E and E-C interpretation. Through this course, students, will have a more systematic understanding of the theory and knowledge about interpretation, master the principles and techniques involved in consecutive interpreting, as well as familiarize themselves with various interpreting topics. As a result, students will be given the opportunity to interpret public addresses on various occasions, putting themselves on the track of professional interpreters.
